Like I said this charecter wasn't born in Puerto Rico but he is Puerto Rican by ancestry his family never mixed.

Thats the problem with our people how you guys reject your own is messed up. Not even the Mexicans do that to their own. You know illegal Mexican vs U.S.A born Mexican American, and one has to work more and be economically discriminated, doesn't get benefits and work harder. (This is not supposed to be offensive. Its simply states Mexican stick together while Puerto Rican's split and divide themselves. This is why we aren't successful as a people. Recuerdanse que estoy regañando ami gente.)

The thing is you guys forget that we had it worse. When Puerto Ricans first came to New York they were the most prejudice against. If they spoke Spanish the teachers wouldn't deal with them. They were beaten by cops and dogs, and labeled as communists. And the government spyed on them. In Illinois on the Puerto Rican parade the police beat an innocent person and then sent dogs, fire hoses, arrested and beat Puerto Ricans. This is known as the 1966 Division Street Riots. Not only that the Puerto Ricans had to deal with the Italian and Greek gangs. This is why the Latin Kings were made. (Unfortunately got corrupt and started drugs, and become gangsters. Oringinally they were supposed to be like Black Panthers.)
My point is I don't need to speak like you, or come from your land I have all my ancestry running through my veins.

I like your statement... we as a people do live with a LOT of identity issues. Its extremely tough and brings an even tougher environment as we approach another dispiriting election (sigh). Its not easy in the states either. As a Puerto Rican who went to the mainland to study, both in Illinois and NYC, I can attest to everything you've written.
It is a comfort though to know that just bringing out tostones and some yummy mayoketchup attracts all the Puerto Ricans around and we tend to forget trifle differences for a little while!!
